Support After the Loss of a Loved One, a Relationship or a Way of Life

Counselling in English or French.

Grief can feel like a heavy fog, waves of sadness, anger, guilt or even numbness that come when you least expect them. Maybe the people around you have moved on and you’re still struggling, or maybe your loss is one others don’t fully understand. Grief counselling gives you space to honour what you’ve lost, make sense of your feelings, and slowly find a way to carry it forward.

Our sessions are available in-person at our Moncton office, virtually, or by phone for clients anywhere in Canada.

When to seek support

Is Grief Counselling Right for You?

There’s no deadline on grief and no wrong time to reach out. Many people come to us weeks, months or even years after a loss.

If any of these sound familiar, support could help:

You feel overwhelmed by sadness, guilt or anger since your loss.
Months later, the pain still feels as heavy as the day it happened.
You have trouble sleeping, eating or getting through the day.
You feel alone in your grief or like others expect you to “be over it.”
Your loss came suddenly or in difficult circumstances.

Who We Help

Every Loss Matters

We support teens (16+), adults and seniors through every kind of loss: the death of a partner, parent, child, friend or pet, pregnancy loss, a life-changing diagnosis, or the end of a chapter like retirement or a move.

How we work

How Grief Counselling Works at East Coast Flourish

We won’t rush your grief or tell you how to feel. Together we’ll make room for your story, work through what feels unfinished, and find healthy ways to cope with hard days, anniversaries and triggers, while keeping a meaningful connection to what you’ve lost.

What We Can Help With:

Death of a Loved One
Losing a partner, parent, child, friend or family member can change everything. We walk alongside you as you learn to carry the loss.
Sudden or Traumatic Loss
When loss comes without warning or in painful circumstances, shock and trauma can mix with grief. We help you process both, gently.
Complicated or Prolonged Grief
When grief feels stuck or as heavy as day one, months or years later. We help you find relief and a way forward.
Pregnancy and Infant Loss
A loss that’s often unseen or misunderstood by others. Your grief is real, and you deserve support.
Loss of a Pet
Pets are family, and losing them can be heartbreaking. We take this grief as seriously as you do.
Anticipatory Grief and Caregiving
Grieving someone who is still here, through illness, dementia or decline. We support you through the exhaustion and the sorrow.

Our Therapeutic Approaches:

Person-Centred Grief Counselling
There’s no timeline or right way to grieve. You lead, and we listen with care and without judgement.
Narrative Therapy
Helps you tell the story of your loss and the person or relationship you’re grieving. It honours what you’ve lost while making room for what’s next.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Helps you make room for painful feelings while staying connected to what matters. Grief and meaning can exist side by side.
Somatic and Polyvagal-Informed Therapy
Grief lives in the body as well as the heart. Gentle body-based work helps ease tension, exhaustion and overwhelm.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Helps with guilt, “what if” thoughts and patterns that keep you stuck. You’ll find more compassionate ways to think about your loss.
Mindfulness and Self-Compassion
Simple practices to help you get through hard days, anniversaries and triggers. You’ll learn to treat yourself with the same kindness you’d offer others.
